03 — WHY IT MATTERS

Controlling airborne contaminants at work

Under the COSHH Regulations 2002, employers must assess exposure to fumes, put adequate control measures in place, and maintain LEV equipment.

LEV equipment must be kept in efficient working order and an efficient state.

Thorough examination and testing must be carried out at a maximum of every 14 months.

For more on your responsibilities as an employer, visit the HSE guidance HSG258 here.
