Click & CollectA 500g reel of a 1.0mm gauge solder wire from Walton Metals incorporating an acid flux core for soldering a wide range of metals used in metal fabrication. The Activ 8 is a Fast Flowing 3% flux core in a High Purity 99C Tin Copper Lead Free alloy (0.45 - 0.9% Copper with balance of Tin). The Activ 8 flux promotes wetting on metals such as:
Brass
Bronze
Cadmium plating
Copper
Galvanised wire
Iron
Lead
Mild Steel
Nickel and nickel plating
Silver
Spring steel
Tinplate
Zinc and zinc plating
Note: This product is not to be used on electronic assemblies. For Stainless Steel soldering a 96S product should be used.
Flux residues under dry conditions would be non-corrosive. If the work is exposed to humidity, which is normal, the residues will over time become mildly corrosive therefore a simple removal by warm water is recommended.
Flux residues are considerably less corrosive than using a seperate liquid flux.
