Commonly called wave ploughs or titanium strips these are manufactured to slide on to the front edge of a Printed Circuit Board. When a PCB is travelling on a wave solder machine conveyor it initially will pass through a preheat stage and then on to the solder bath subjecting the PCB material to high thermal demands. This can cause the board to sag and especially with large panels can cause flooding with molten solder and potential component damage and health and safety issues.
